Beloved Nashville staple Woodcuts Gallery + Framing is making an intentional mark this Black History Month with a new exhibition. Rooted Reflections: The Fabric of Self. The immersive exhibition explores reflection, grounding, and emotional presence through material, color, and space. Rooted in therapeutic art practices and designed with accessibility in mind, the work invites viewers to slow down, pause, and engage with their inner landscapes in a meaningful and welcoming way.
Using textiles, sculptural forms, wire, and natural materials, Woods draws from Black cultural traditions while centering joy, care, and emotional expansiveness. Rather than presenting fixed meanings, each piece creates space for rest, connection, and personal reflection. At its core, the exhibition offers art as a space of care, restoration, and collective presence.
The opening reception on Thursday, February 19, will provide an opportunity to experience the exhibition, connect with the community, and celebrate Black History Month through art.
