With people still moving to Nashville on the regular, Richard and Tia Harrison, a mom and son duo, are creating unique Airbnb experiences with their brand The Perfect Guesture. Each property is crafted to ensure you have a fun and memorable stay in Music City. From the decor, statement pieces, amenities, and photos that stop the scroll, they are providing a boutique hotel vibe. The two current properties are Soul of the South and Exhale, each offering a different experience for guests while they explore Nashville. The beautiful part, Tia, a successful business owner with several successful businesses under her belt, is walking alongside her son to create something new, while helping him realize his own entrepreneurial dreams.
Tell readers about The Perfect Guesture?
Tia: We are short term rental company. We can host people for up to 30 days, and that could be a tourist, a business traveler, or a traveling nurse who’s just here for a short period of time. We also have the opportunity to collaborate with businesses and companies that are seeking to housing for their people/team members for a short period of time as well.
What has it been like collaborating as Mother and Son?
Richard: It has been fun. I’ve always admired my mom’s business skills. Working and seeing her have a business of her own in the home health care space. Then outside of that, my mom had other entrepreneurial endeavors. she’s been a part of this, um, church program we had called Joseph Business School, which is another like entrepreneurship business school. And it was certified, like this is a big program, right. She was the queen of side hustles. This made her the perfect businesswoman to collaborate with. She was also a part of an accredited entrepreneur program through our church, Joseph Business School, becoming a mentor and leader within the organization.
Tia: For me it’s a teaching opportunity to be able to see that he’s picked up and observed when I was working while raising him. You know, we were just doing, going, and doing our thing and each of our children has just picked up that spirit of entrepreneurship. To see them carry the torch is just, has been so much fun. My heart has been so full, being able to watch him walk in his gifts. For him to be in the hospitality industry was just natural and he is so creative. I might be able to do the operational things, but Richard has a great eye for design. We complement each other well, and it’s really a good feeling to partner with him in this endeavor.
What can guests expect from your properties?
Tia: Each of our properties provides a retreat-like experience. Exhale is our self-care suite. When you come in, you get all the amenities that you would get from a spa. We collaborate with professionals who can come in and do facials, massages, nail care and various other services. Exhale helps a person relax, it’s a place where you can just kind of step out of the traffic and come for a staycation or just to focus on you. It’s a totally different vibe from Soul of the South. With Soul of the South, it captures the essence of Southern hospitality and the electrifying spirit of Nashville. With the lively sounds and vibrant energy of South Broadway right outside your window, you’re perfectly positioned to dive into the heart of the action while still finding a comfortable oasis inside. This cozy haven is more than just a place to stay; it’s a celebration of culture and comfort.
So, what’s next for The Perfect Guesture?
Richard: I think we’re probably going to acquire one or two more properties before the end of the year and really focus on collaborations and marketing the core amenities we have right now. Because I wear many hats outside of entrepreneurship, I enjoy doing a lot of creative things. I’m trying to bring this into the promotion of our units, bringing more interactive elements, allowing people to see themselves inside our units.
