The Summer for Soul’d – All People Coffee Residency

Sometimes, space and opportunity are all that’s needed to make a difference. Start-up non-profit, Soul’d Creative Collective, kicked off its 501(c)(3) status launching an Artist Residency at All People Coffee this summer.

With events such as a Haiku slam and a Vinyl listening party underway, this three-month residency entails night programming hosted by Soul’d every other Thursday from 7-9pm.

Soul’d has been on the scene for a while before officializing as a nonprofit this year. Founders Christian Sinclair and Jonathan Wynn manifested a vision of the collective after one heart-to-heart conversation early 2022. After planning a more than successful, open-mic night that May, they have charged forward and created buzz through different, cultural projects with collaborators such as the Frist Museum, Vanderbilt University, and The Porch.

Their pillars of education, collaboration, and access is honed within the series. Various programming constructed by artists exemplifies the pillars in how they share their expertise to the community, which supports their purpose of bringing people together over the love of BIPOC arts and culture.

Their relationship with All People Coffee, who first believed and supported the movement of Soul’d, shares alignment in bringing people together. Together, they have and will continue to access safe space and community for BIPOC creatives this summer.

As soon as All People Coffee closes from regular hours, artists are given time to transition the safe space to their liking. Attendees walk in, connect with others before the start of program. Carried through customized activation and guidance, attendees leave feeling fulfilled in the artists’ purpose of the event while embracing community with others.
