Why is Shaana lovin’ Nashville right now?
I moved to Nashville when I came here to attend Tennessee State University in 2003 and it has been home ever since! What I love most about Nashville is the evolution of the city, the awesome social scene, and the endless opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs like myself to network and see our projects come to fruition due to so many likeminded individuals willing to work with you and help make your dreams come true! I also love that a new restaurant opens in this city every week which makes it a single woman’s dream!
I’m an intermittent fasting kinda girl so this means my morning usually starts with brunch, rather than your typical breakfast! One of my favorite brunch spots is Hopsmith in Midtown because you get so much good for such a small amount of money. It really is a gem in this city and I recommend it to people all the time. It’s a super casual spot, but if you want something a notch up, I recommend Nada. It’s an eclectic spin on Mexican and they have delicious drinks if you want that “It’s five o’clock somewhere” vibe! They also have a small, but nice patio, if you prefer dining outside like myself! I’m a country girl at heart so I love the outdoors.
I’ve recently gotten back into a childhood hobby of rollerblading for exercise so I usually try to find a local park that isn’t too busy to skate on and Centennial Park is one of my faves. If you’re not into skating, but are into keeping to keeping that waist line tight and right, you can always walk or hike in this park as well. It’s also cute spot for dates, but that’s another story for a different day! Once I’ve worked up an appetite, a spot I frequent and they might know me name is Surreal Spice! It’s a delicious salad spot that offers a variety of freshly made salads that satisfy my appetite and make sure I stay on track with my health goals as well! It’s also locally owned! You can’t lose with this one!
I am always down for a happy hour or ladies night and the STK happy hour is one that absolutely fits the bill! The vibe and atmosphere is so sleek and chic that it makes you want to dress for the occasion and the drinks and appetizers are to die for! The bonus here is that most nights, you are sure to spot some eye candy across from you at the bar and that always makes the drinks go down easier! Another evening spot I love to frequent is L.A. Jackson, in The Gulch, because of its awesome rooftop and view of the city. On weekend nights they have an in house DJ that always makes it a night to remember and return on many nights afterward! They are both nice and ADULT vibes all the time!
A Bonus Thing to Know or Do
Yee-Haw Brewing company is a great spot if you have guests in town you need to entertain, tourist, or even for a different type of date night! It’s an awesome spot to begin or end your night with live music, moonshine tastings, and food trucks with all kinds of treats at your disposal! I also love Kung Fu Saloon is a nice spot for a date or for groups with Karaoke rooms, arcade games, and a live DJ! It’s an arcade for adults with drinks served up on the side! You cannot go wrong with either of these choices, whether you are boo’d up or single lady who is out in the city looking to mingle!
