What sparked your interest in skincare?

Honestly, aging sparked it. I didn’t think about my health the way I should have in my 20s. I ate fairly well, drank water, and assumed I was doing enough. Then it felt like someone flipped a switch. I developed allergies, my hormones were doing their own thing, and my skin started betraying me. As I started looking for answers, I realized how closely skin health is tied to overall health. When I couldn’t find skincare that felt safe for my sensitive skin or brands that were transparent with their ingredients… I decided to get into the lab, use my background in science, and fill the gap!

Why a focus on sensitive skin?

Sensitive skin is far more common than people realize, especially as we age.  As our bodies change, especially with stress, hormones, and lifestyle changes, our skin often becomes more reactive, and we can develop sensitivity over time. All of these things are happening, and we aren’t talking about it. It’s like there’s a shame in the way our bodies shift. I want my brand to be a safe space that’s supportive and understanding towards skin that needs more gentleness and attention.

Why are your skincare ingredients so important?

I focus on ingredients that help strengthen the skin barrier, maintain hydration, and calm inflammation. I’m very intentional about avoiding unnecessary irritants and keeping formulas streamlined so the skin can function at its best. You’ll see key ingredients like turmeric, sea moss, oatmeal and blue tansy, ingredients known for their ability to soothe, calm, and support skin healing. I like to think of them as vitamins for your skin. Every ingredient is chosen with purpose to support skin health, not aggressively work against it.

Okay, so what’s more important, cleanser or serums?

Your cleanser sets the foundation for your entire routine. If your wash strips your skin or disrupts your barrier, even the most expensive serums won’t perform well. A good face wash should cleanse effectively while preserving the skin’s natural balance. When cleansing is done right, your skin is more receptive, less reactive, and better able to benefit from the products that follow.

Why should you never skip moisturizing?

Moisturizing is about more than hydration; it’s about protection. A good moisture barrier defends the skin against environmental stressors, irritation, and inflammation. When that barrier is compromised, skin becomes more prone to breakouts and sensitivity. Consistent moisturizing is really one of the best ways to care for your skin at any age.

How do you choose the right skincare products?

I always encourage people to simplify their routine and really listen to their skin by paying attention to how it reacts. Start with the basics…cleanse, apply an oil or serum, and moisturize, then introduce new products slowly. Look for formulas that are gentle, thoughtfully formulated, and aligned with your skin’s current needs, not just trends. Skincare isn’t about doing more; it’s about doing what’s right for your skin.
