Both The Corner Wedgewood and Aura Lounge were started in the spirit of community and collaboration. Nashville has many great food places to choose from. However, I feel there is room for more spaces where creatives and like-minded people can connect and co-create experiences. The Corner Wedgewood is just as much a place for that as it is for getting great food and beverages.
How has your journey been, starting a business in Nashville?
My journey has been great thus far. I feel like the people who really want to be a part of Nashville’s explosive growth have welcomed my vision and supported my endeavors because our intentions align. For that, I’m grateful!
Why Nashville?
Nashville called me because it’s 10 hours from my hometown, Louisiana. Having lived in LA for almost 20 years, but being a southern country boy at heart, Nashville feels like the best of both worlds. There is a slower southern pace; it’s hospitable, but there are a lot of movers and shakers here, and it’s really blossoming into an international city. I love it here.
What are your must-try signature items?
At the Corner Wedgewood, we are really growing a name for our drinks more than our food. We pride ourselves on having some of the best mixologists and cocktail architects in the city. I like whiskey, so my favorite drink here is the Brown Butter Pecan Old Fashion, and when I want something unique, the White Rabbit is also a must-try. We’ve got great flatbreads, pastries, and top-quality coffee as well.
What do you hope people experience when they walk in your doors?
If you come in the daytime for co-working or coffee vibes, I want you to feel at home and let the playlist take you away while you work. If you’re here for an after-hour event, I want you to be blown away by the talent, the sound, and the people we bring together. Everything here is done with the intention of community, connection, and having a genuinely good time. At The Corner Wedgewood, we really want people to leave with a feeling that everything was intentional.
