Time to shake the fluctuating temperatures off and bring in the warmth. It’s kids’ time now to grow like the blooming seasons that are upon us. Middle Tennessee has so much to offer for our youth and now is the time to sign-up. The pandemic has not stopped these programs from taking it all online. The fun and excitement await the youth of Tennessee.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee

Neighborhood-based buildings with affordable annual memberships at $25, children between 5 and 18 years old can become club members. The Boys Girls Club of Middle Tennessee has always been a staple in the community for 118 years, providing trained youth development professionals which serve as role models and mentors. Their programs include Project Learn, Club Tech, Junior Staff, Power Hour, Money Matters, Careerlaunch, and Be Great: Graduate.

100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, Inc.

100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, Inc, established in 1991, affiliated with The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. are trailblazers in the community serving black make students in Nashville and surrounding Middle Tennessee. This non-profit organization has development programs, and mentoring resources. Some of the programs include The 007, The 100 Scholars, and The 100 KINGS.

Moves & Grooves, Inc., Tennessee

Got creative kids, Moves & Grooves, Inc. is waiting for them. Their mission is to care about the WHOLE child through Arts, Education, Health, Diversity Service, and Leadership. Before and after-school programs are available. Summer Dance & Music Camp 2021, June 7 – July 23, 2021, students will enjoy theater, music, dance, and academic classes. The non-profit organization has 18 years of service and is currently building a 12,000 sq. ft. space which will include classrooms, study areas, performance auditorium, and career center, computer, and STEM lab coming soon in 2023.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee aim is to provide and foster mentorship to children between the ages of 9 – 16 developing personal, career, and academic skills. Antioch High School juniors and seniors are accepted into the E-Mentoring program. Currently, the mentor matches are virtually but still engaging and fun. Here are several of the mentoring programs,
Community-Based, Site-Based, E-Mentoring, Sports Buddies, and Mentor Corps. Whether you are looking to become a Mentor “Become a Big” or looking for a Big Brother Big Sister “Enroll a Little”, this organization delivers.

Youth About Business, Tennessee

Calling all business students. Youth About Business has exciting online programs including Business Economy of America (June 28 – 30, 2021) Summer Business Camp (dates by region), Championship Camp (July 26 – 30, 2021), and Leadership Development and Career Preparation (August 2021 – March 2022). Over 8,000 students have participated in their various programs.

Gideon’s Army, Tennessee

Gideon’s Army is a community based that uses justice programs to deconstruct the school-to-prison channel. Their programs address various issues such as youth violence, juvenile justice, school-push-out, and policing. In addition to their many programs which focus on restorative justice, Gideon’s Army has a one-week summer camp in June. “Woke Camp” is where students have fun learning about self-care and social actions.
