Find your sense of belonging with Metro Parks! There is something for everyone in the city’s park system. Metro Parks is consistently creating new opportunities for all Nashvillians to have access to free or low-cost recreation and wellness activities. Whether you are a young parent seeking enrichment activities for your toddler or a senior who is looking for new ways to build community, you can find it within Metro Parks.
The parks system hosts over 500 events on an annual basis. Juneteenth615, Celebrate Nashville, and Nashville Earth Day are some of the parks system’s biggest events each year. However, on a weekly basis you can find exciting events taking place at one of four nature centers, 27 community centers, or at one of seven historical sites, such as Two Rivers Mansion and Fort Negley Park.

Environmental conservation is one of the main focuses of the parks system. Our nature center naturalists teach weekly programs to Nashvillians of all ages about local flora and fauna found throughout Middle Tennessee. From story time at the nature centers to guided nature walks, our naturalists will show you new ways to appreciate the world around us.
- Are you a hiking connoisseur? Try hiking some of the trails at Bells Bend, Beaman, Edwin Warner, Percy Warner or Shelby Bottoms. Metro Parks naturalists are always eager and willing to help hikers of all skill sets!
- Is pickleball or tennis more your speed? Designated pickleball and tennis courts can be found throughout the parks system and the Centennial Sportsplex where you can continue practicing your love for the sport. At the Sportsplex, you can also take a dip in the Olympic-sized swimming pool, workout in the fitness center, or ice skate! Metro Parks also has seven golf courses across Davidson County that have low-cost, reservable, tee-times and golf lessons.
- Water aerobics classes, low-impact workout classes, and other activities for seniors are available throughout the year. Parents can take their children to Tot Time at Community Centers throughout the county for safe, supervised, indoor play with other families.

The department’s disABILITIES program was created over 40 years ago as a supervised space for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Program participants learn sign language, take part in a variety of sports leagues, and compete in the Special Olympics.
Cultural arts are a popular amenity at Metro Parks! Nashvillians and tourists alike can visit the beautiful exhibits at the Centennial Art Center or the Parthenon. Metro Parks also hosts many low-cost painting, sculpting, and other medium-based art courses. Dance and music are equally appreciated through programs and classes held by the Music and Theater Division via the Centennial Performing Arts Studios.

Regardless of your interests in recreation and wellness activities, Metro Parks has something for everyone! To find the latest programs and activities follow Metro Parks on social media or visit the monthly calendar on the Metro Parks website.
