Black on Buchanan brings live music, local vendors, and community spirit to North Nashville on June 14
The heartbeat of Nashville’s Black community is getting ready to pulse with renewed energy as The Equity Alliance prepares to host the 6th Annual Black on Buchanan: A Juneteenth Block Party on Friday, June 14, from 3-8 PM along Historic Buchanan Street.
This isn’t just another street festival—it’s a celebration deeply rooted in the history and culture of North Nashville, an area that has served as home and refuge to generations of Black Nashvillians. With over 1,500 attendees expected, Black on Buchanan has evolved into one of Music City’s most authentic cultural experiences.
The lineup this year promises to deliver on all fronts. Headlining performances from Young Dro, Meme The Goat, Coach Q, Sankofa, and Tim Gent will keep the energy high, while DJ Crisis spins throughout the day. The event runs from 3-8 PM, with a special Juneteenth program from 4-7 PM that honors the historical significance of the holiday.

“Black on Buchanan is more than just a block party celebrating Juneteenth. It’s about us—our community, and the power of celebrating Blackness, entrepreneurship, artistry, and, more importantly, our history and culture. For six years, we’ve been amplifying Black and minority-owned businesses, giving a platform to emerging talent, and creating a space that’s for us and by us,” shared Jess Williams, Director of Growth & Engagement with The Equity Alliance. “This is about building something that honors our people, our artistry, and our collective strength—because when we come together, we show the world what Black excellence really looks like.”
The event will feature over 75 vendors and community partners, transforming Buchanan Street into a bustling marketplace of Black entrepreneurship. Food trucks, artists, small businesses, and community organizations will line the street, creating opportunities for attendees to discover local gems while supporting Black-owned enterprises.
Families will find plenty to enjoy with a dedicated kids’ zone, line dancing, and community activities throughout the day. For those looking to elevate their experience, VIP tickets offer expedited entry, exclusive lounge areas, complimentary drinks, and premium swag.

Ready to join the celebration? Tickets and vendor spots are available now at www.theequityalliance.org/juneteenth. VIP experiences are expected to sell out quickly, so early purchase is recommended.
Local businesses and entrepreneurs interested in joining the vendor village can secure their spot to connect with the community and showcase their offerings to over 1,500 attendees. With 125+ vendors expected, this is Nashville’s premier opportunity to celebrate Black excellence while building business connections.
