Located at historic Fisk University lies one of the longest running art galleries in Nashville. Founded in 1949, the Carl Van Vechten Art Gallery still stands as a platform for Black artists to show their work and express their minds. Still one of the most interesting galleries, and definitely worth a visit!

Although it is not Black owned, Vanderbilt’s Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Culture Center has a wonderful collection of Black art. Since I am sure you love art, you may want to check it out if you haven’t already.
