The Nashville Black Market (NBM), your favorite first Friday experience in Nashville now has a new retail store out east . You can now shop all Nashville Black-owned businesses every day from home goods, bath + body to apparel. Owners, Carlos Partee and Javvon Jones wanted to create a shoppable experience to continue empowering Black-owned businesses in Nashville. Our editor had a chance to stop by and chat with the owners along with grab a few things and it was so cool being able to walk into their establishment. Plus, seeing local Nashville brands we know to new ones we were able to discover like Oye Oye Coffee, Lustfull Bath, Kendra’s Popcorn and the Nashville Black Market’s Cashville brand along with a variety of others.
We thought it was important to open our story because a lot of businesses have a huge success at our events, so we wanted to give the same experience on a regular basis to give opportunity for growth.
The NBM store also offers an easy, accessible way for businesses to have shelf space in the store. Interested businesses can reserve their spot for free and then NBM takes a commission % from each of your sales. Plus, they offer stocking on-site and mailing for products purchased. With this model, businesses have an opportunity to diversify along with selling both offline and online.
It’s all kind of stuff here and a lot of black excellence.
The new store location is also giving more offerings to help businesses grow including an in-house podcast and recording studio right next door to the retail location.
