MySista Circle: An organization for women to be empowered and find community

Joy Johnson-Carruthers, a DEI and HR consultant was called to create something new this year in a very poignant time within our country. A time where women’s rights and civiil rights are being upended. With, many are wondering what their future will entail both professionally and personally. MySista Circle is a supportive community utilizing the Circle process (a process used for generations by Native American and African communities) to foster growth, collaboration, and actionable change for Black women. They provide safe spaces to share experiences, address challenges, and inspire success.

“In the wake of the last election, many Black women have faced heightened hostility in both workplaces and society. I saw too many of us feeling unheard, isolated, and uncertain about our futures. My background in DEI, HR, and corporate training compelled me to take action. MySista Circle was born from a need to reclaim our power, foster community strength, and push back against fear-mongering with something uplifting. This is more than a support group4it’s a movement for resilience, empowerment, and collective growth”, shares Joy.
