Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Nashville awarded 11 organizations in the Nashville area a total of $55,000 to support educational initiatives that benefit our youth. Through this funding, the Church will partner with the eleven Nashville organizations to support programs and resources that provide academic growth, athletic opportunities and attendance resources for students. Each organization received an award of $5,000 from the Church.
“We are proud to announce this year’s awardees and greatly look forward to supporting them as they work to help our community,” Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bishop Joseph Walker III said.
The following organizations will receive a $5,000 award from the Church:
- Antioch High School
- Cane Ridge High School
- John Overton High School
- Maplewood High School
- Whites Creek High School
- Robert Churchwell Elementary School
- Wright Middle School
- McKissack Middle School
- Brick Church Middle School
- Girls Scouts of America
- Back Field in Motion
This initiative supports programs and resources that provide academic growth, athletic opportunities and attendance resources for students. Launched in 2012, Mt. Zion Baptist Church established a ministry educational partnership award with two Metro Nashville Public Schools. Nearly 12 years later, Mt. Zion has expanded this program to include eleven organizations across the Nashville community.
“Working collaboratively in the Nashville community allows us to have a much broader impact beyond our Church that will lead to strengthening systems and resources in our communities needed to benefit our youth,” Bishop Walker expressed. “We are profoundly grateful to continue to be a resource that allows us to pour generously into our community.”
We love to see it!
