What was the catalyst for you to start your business? |
I was working for a trash company here in Nashville, during the pandemic, and they weren’t taking care of their employees like they needed to. Seeing how essential the waste management industry was and the knowledge I had from being in waste management for over 20 years, I said: “You know what? I can do this on my own.” So I just took a leap of faith and my wife was there to push me off the ledge and I’ve been soaring ever since.
What made you want to participate in the Twendé program? |
I was in the InFlight program, and then I heard about Twendé because I did Corner to Corner. They told us to apply for Twendé, and I said: “I’ll do both of them if I can.” Twendé was more of the culture I understand, and InFlight provided another side to looking at my business. Twendé was a familiar space for me, it was comfortable and helped me grow in different ways.
Twendé means “Let’s go” in Kiswahili, so what’s been a word that has kept you going as an entrepreneur in Nashville? |
Wake up, and make it happen.
