How many years have you been in Nashville?
All my life.
Tell us what you are creating in Nashville?
I think about the people who like my music as my friends, even if we just discovered each other. So, I am building a community of friends who love to laugh and dance and have a good time with my music as the soundtrack to those life experiences. I make music that blends Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, House, Gospel, Jazz, and other genres; so we attract a lot of people who have eclectic tastes. We’re just getting started! I’ll be releasing a bunch of new music this year and I’m super excited. People can connect with us and get updates by texting 615-219-2511.
What inspires you?
As a songwriter, I am inspired by life and people and tend to write about situations that I have either experienced or observed. If you pay attention and observe, people will give you plenty to write about. Musically, I am inspired by people who always break new ground when people wanted something new: Prince, Michael, Kanye West, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Kirk Franklin, Beyonce, Timbaland, Pharell, Stevie, The Beatles. Great art reflects life and timing is everything.
I grew up here and I’ve seen the city change and grow so much, so fast. You can still be a big fish in a small pond here; and if you can grow with the pond, you’ll win.
Coffee, brunch, or happy hour?
All 3! I love being amongst people, making new friends, and hanging with old ones. Follow me on IG and you’ll see some of the spots I like to visit. @Khrys.Hatch
