Title: Potter
Tell us what you are creating in Nashville? I make functional pottery, made on a potter’s wheel using stoneware clay, that ranges from functional wares to decorative wares. I decorate my pots using colored slips and a process known as sgraffito, where I create designs in the pot by way of carving.
What inspires you? Creativity is my inspiration. I’m a lover of nature, music, people, art, theater, and life.
What gets you into your creative space? Staying open to new possibilities helps me be creative and helps me explore. Connecting with other artists also inspires and invites me to try new things in new ways, creatively.
What is your favorite Nashville spot you are digging right now? I’m inclined to say The Clay Lady Campus, where I took classes that led to my getting a studio and to continue learning. They provide everything to inspire, to make, and connect with other artists, to fan the flames of creativity and to grow as an artist.
