Benita Livingston

What do you do or create in Nashville? I am the owner of Living Ceremonies, a wedding officiant service that serves couples who want their ceremony to be meaningful, intentional and fun. I tell their love story in a way that they and their guests will enjoy. The ceremony is the beginning of a couples married life together, it sets the tone for the day. It is the most important part and I feel it is my responsibility to help couples realize that and to make it a meaningful and unforgettable experience.
Not only do I officiate weddings I am also the pastor of St. Paul AME Church, so between the two and my grandchildren, I stay busy.

What brought you to Nashville? I moved to Nashville in November 2021 after I retired as a Chaplain from the Memphis VA Medical Center. I came to be close to my children and grandchildren.

What inspires you? First and foremost is my relationship with God, without that, life wouldn’t have much meaning. Next, would to be the work/ministry that I do, serving others is inspirational to me. Spending time with my grandkids who always have something going on, and spending time on the beach not only inspires me but replenishes me.
