The second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon hosted by the Just Ask Me Ministry (JAMM) was a success. Founded by Diane Jones, a survivor, the event has truly grown into an event celebrating survivors of breast cancer and other cancers. The event was held at St. Joseph Parish Life Center on November 3rd. Featuring guest Speaker Sevetria Hood, the event was a time for community and healing. Attendees were able to enjoy a southern inspired meal, music from the Cowan Street Men’s Choir and a beautiful praise dance from a young dance team.
Diane Jones, founder of JAMM, had this to say: “I’m Every Woman” Is my true love and passion. JAMM has been active for about 10 years doing things in the community and behind the scenes. I’m not one to have to be in the forefront. But “I’m Every Woman” began coming to life after I started visiting ladies with breast cancer per the request of a family member or friend. Hearing their stories , the struggles, their fears , and sometimes lack of support touched me. I want every woman to feel special, appreciated, loved and most of all know that she is not alone. She is a part of a unique club of women that are stronger and wiser than they ever could and can imagine. We are one, just like me they “Every Woman”. This is my assignment and I’m fulfilling if to the fullest. I’m not good with putting my words on paper, my actions speak for me but everyone can tell I am very committed and dedicated to honoring these ladies.”
