I had the pleasure of being the chair for this year’s annual ISOA (Interdenominational Services of America) Women’s Executive Roundtable last week. The WERT luncheon connects minority female college students to awesome female community leaders and entrepreneurs in the city. Each year, I hear stories from women that inspire me including the students who share their goals and how the event has helped them move closer to the things they are seeking in life. Also getting a boost from women who are killing it in their respective industries definitely helps me keep moving towards my own goals, so it’s double awesomeness (yep, I know that is not a word:). This year was definitely no different as we heard from 4 rockstar women.
ISOA will also hold their annual BEEM Career Fair on May 15, 2015, providing another opportunity for the community to give back. BEEM is held at Smithson Craighead Academy and seeks to expose minorityK-4th grade kids to a variety of career opportunities to ensure they see first hand what is attainable, if they continue to excel in school. The event allows corporate leaders, business owners and other creative peeps in the community to showcase their career to young, excited minds as they dream big for the future. Past vendor participants includes: Nissan, Metro Police and SWAT, Meharry Medical, Metro Fire, Logo My Logo and Roland Photography.
If you are interested in sharing your career, company, non-profit or mission to the youth, BEEM would love to have you as one of their 2015 vendors and all you have to do is volunteer your time!
Where: Smithson Craighead Academy, 730 Neelys Bend Rd., Nashville, TN 37115
When: Friday, May 15, 2015 from 9:00am – 11:30am. Sponsorship is also available.
