The Nashville Predators are proving that hockey is for everyone with their groundbreaking youth hockey initiative, a program designed to ensure that every child in Nashville has the chance to experience the thrill of skating and the excitement of the game. The Nashville Predators’ mission is clear: make hockey accessible, fun, and inclusive.
Here’s why parents, guardians, and older youth should check it out:
1. Affordable Access to Hockey
Through a variety of community outreach efforts, the Nashville Predators are breaking down barriers and welcoming kids of all backgrounds to the rink. One of their most exciting initiatives is Creating Opportunities for Racial Equality (CORE) presented by Bridgestone—a free program introducing hockey to kids ages 5-9, fostering inclusivity, and building essential skills for success both on and off the ice.
The biggest hurdle to playing hockey is often the cost, but the Nashville Predators are tackling that head-on. With low-cost introductory programs and free equipment rentals, kids can hit the ice without financial strain. The Nashville Predators even partner with local organizations to provide scholarships and ensure no child is left on the sidelines.
2. Building Confidence and Teamwork
Hockey is more than just a game—it’s a character builder. Youth participants develop confidence, learn teamwork, and build discipline, all while building friendships. The supportive coaching environment ensures that players of all skill levels feel encouraged and empowered.
3. A Pathway to Growth and Opportunity
For those who fall in love with the game, the Nashville Predators provide a structured pathway to progress. From beginner classes to advanced leagues, young athletes can develop their skills with professional coaching and mentorship. Many who start in the program will continue on to higher levels of competition.
By making hockey more accessible and inclusive, the Nashville Predators are creating more than just players—they’re building a stronger, more connected community. Whether you’re a parent looking for a new activity for your child, now is the time to hit the ice and see what the Nashville Predators’ CORE program has to offer!
