If you didn’t know, Tennessee is home to the longest bar in the world (518 ft!), Humble Baron located at the Nearest Green Distillery. Last weekend they celebrated their one-year anniversary with an explosive weekend of events, live music including an amazing performance by Nappy Roots (90’s/2000’s vibes were activated), great food, and of course, whiskey. From a global bartender takeover with recipes specially created by bartenders from around the world to ending with a powerful Gospel Brunch, attendees converged on Shelbyville, TN for all of the festivities. We had a chance to chat with owner, Keith Weaver about what this anniversary means and what can folks expect next. As Keith shares, “We created Humble Baron to be a place where everyone has a seat at the table and as we celebrate our inaugural year, we’re proud to be a cornerstone of the community – a haven that embraces and unites people from all walks of life. We’re so proud to see our vision for Humble Baron come to life. It’s been an honor to host nearly one hundred thousand guests from every walk of life, fostering a real sense of unity as they gather under one roof to enjoy an eclectic mix of live music, handcrafted cocktails, and culinary delights.”

Keith is also planning more for Shelbyville with the launch of his hospitality company, Nashwood Inc., which will invest $100 million into the city including, a new restaurant and an annual music and arts festival. “Under our five-year plan, we have exciting new ventures in the works, including a brewery and hotel that mirrors the brand identity of Uncle Nearest and Nearest Green Distillery, which is excellence. And it’s Black excellence in everything that you see and touch with the brand”, states Keith.

We surely can’t wait for what’s next and in the meantime, get your affairs in order as Humble Baron has a lot of fun events lined up this year.  Keith shares, “from karaoke nights and a Prince tribute to our summer movie night series and second-ever balloon festival, and culminating in a Winter Wonderland spectacular”.
