An Urbaanite Guide To Creatives Day Nashville

Creatives Day Nashville is the vision of Brian Sexton. He is super motivated, creative and has a true love for this city and the creatives making all types of magic happen. He is also that cool that he facilitated making October 22, officially Creatives Day in Nashville. Yes, there is an official proclamation confirmed by Mayor Barry, we dig. A creative himself, Brian is one of the co-founders of Spreadluv, the amazing concert series that brought us the Missy Elliott tribute to the 1996 Tribute (which was dope by the way). Creating Spreadluv was also the spark that lead him to pursuing the Creatives Day Mission of recognition dedicated to individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation. So, with all that said Creatives Day Nashville is sure to be an epic day in the city.

It is day to celebrate and connect all those creating something in Nashville. From musicians and artists to chefs and photographers. The day is also about bringing awareness to the challenges/barriers facing the creatives community and provide professional development to help them continue winning. Speaking as a creative business, we know all too well how complex it is to merge your passion and art with the business side of things. We were also excited to be a part of the planning committee and seeing how one person’s vision was manifested through the support of many.

Creatives Day will give people an opportunity to support many local creative businesses including restaurants and shops. There will be special discounts and offers throughout the day on October 22, 2016 from places like The Post to The Garden Brunch Cafe. Click here for full list of participating businesses

Creatives Day will kick off with a Proclamation Ceremony at Fisk Univeristy, Carl Van Vechten Gallery at 11am followed by a panel discussion at 12pm. The day will end with a mixer at WKND Hang Suite starting at 7pm. See link for full details. Just picture people from diverse backgrounds across the city coming together for one great creative movement.  Good feeling, right?!?! We can’t wait either.
