As the holiday season approaches, your home becomes more than just a space—it’s the heart of celebration, warmth, and joy. At Floradayleaf, we believe in transforming every corner into a festive haven, blending timeless elegance with the natural beauty of floral design. Being based in the Nashville area we also see this time of the year as a time for family, Southern charm, and Southern hospitality.
At Floradayleaf, we transform, create and elevate spaces with our custom floral designs and installations. We specialize in creating breathtaking designs that elevate your home or event into a festive masterpiece. Whether it’s a warm, welcoming entryway, a show-stopping tablescape, or custom greenery with a touch of flair, our designs bring the magic of the season to life. When decorating for the holidays, we like to consider five key areas:

Greenery and Tree Selection
When using faux greenery and faux trees try to select those that look as natural as possible. Then mix various types of greenery together to add depth, interest and even a more natural appearance. With fresh cut trees; pick one that is nice, full and even on all sides. You’ll also want to make sure that adequate water is provided, to prevent it from drying out too quickly.
Scale
When picking a Christmas tree, be sure to pick one that is appropriate for the scale of the room. Avoid the Charlie Brown Christmas tree effect, but also note that you don’t need to go to the full extent of what your ceiling allows. As you want to allow space for a fancy tree topper. You will also want to consider if it is better to have a slim tree or a full tree to provide the perfect amount of warmth in the room, but also allow for the gathering of family and friends.
Lighting
You should always allow for plenty of warm lights to achieve a vibrant glow. Lights should be layered evenly, always considering light types (for example: warm or bright white, multicolored or even those that twinkle. The optimal amount of lighting is what makes holiday decor feel so magical.
Theme and Flair
This is the fun part! Choose a theme (for example: modern, traditional, rustic, whimsical or glam). This is where you get to add various types of ornaments in different shapes and sizes. The same goes for ribbon, bows and stems or even picks. You want to make sure you allow for the perfect balance of layering, boldness and personality. Be sure to consider the space in which you are decorating for, as the right combination can be game changing. My favorite combination is a balance of modern, rustic and glam.

The Final Touch
Tree toppers don’t have to be static or individual in nature like a single star. You can have multiple elements layered for that wow factor. I like to lead up to it , incorporating varied stems or picks with some sort of a natural element. This gives each installation its own sense of natural beauty. You can also add unexpected touches to stand out and create an element of surprise. This makes holiday decorating fun and exciting year after year.
From lush wreaths and garlands to creative centerpieces and adorned trees, we are happy to inspire your holiday décor with style and thoughtful details to make your season truly magical.
Holiday decorating is more than just the decorations themselves, it is about creating a magical moment that creates warmth and joy; with memories for loved ones, that are cherished for years to come.
