A Fall Brunch Recipe: Sweet Potato + Cream Waffles

What a better way to celebrate the fall season than with an at-home brunch recipe! Kirbee of Nashville favorite Kinimi Kitchen gave us an inside look at one of her favorite fall brunch recipes complete with sweet potatoes, cinnamon, and more to give those yummy fall flavors. Grab your apron, have fun with this beginner recipe, and have even more fun eating it!

Kirbee’s Sweet Potato & Cream Waffles


  • 1 cups Sweet Potato puree 
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 c sugar 
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 1/2 tsp  Vanilla extract

What to Do:

  1. Boil Sweet Potatoes (about 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes
  2. Heat waffle iron 
  3. Sift all dry ingredients except cinnamon twice 
  4. Add Cinnamon
  5. Add whipping cream 
  6. Add vegetable oil
  7. Stir in eggs 
  8. Add batter to iron, cook according to your texture preference 
  9. Top with  Cinnamon +  Powdered Sugar & Vanilla Whipping Cream
