Confections & Conversations, Sweet Fun Had By All!

Last week, we hosted Confections and Conversations, our first Urbaanite event! The event’s goal was to help black female entrepreneurs in Nashville make sweet connections. We were so thankful to be surrounded by such a positive group of women who “get it!” They get wanting to support each other; they get wanting to join a group of like minded entrepreneurs to help propel their business; they get the importance of supporting their community. Simply put, they get why we started Urbaanite and we could not be happier.

The event kicked off with conversations over fun appetizers, wine and Lime-A-Ritas. (A gathering is never complete without them). As guests made their way into the event, there was an instant “Hey, how are you!” type of vibe, which the Ashley’s are all about.

Event planners were then invited into the bridal room at paperkuts Studio. Side note: Kim Washington, owner of paperkuts, was the hostess with the mostess and provided a great location for our C&C event. Once our planners and other guests had their seats, the sweets presentations began. Each confectioner had 10 minutes to showcase their brand to key planners in the Nashville community. There were a lot of cupcakes, popcorn, mousse and cake pops to go around, giving guests a chance to taste all that our confectioners had to offer.

“Where social & business collide” is what Urbaanite embodies and after the presentations our guests had a chance to shop & explore all the goodies available at the paperkuts studio. Urbaanite and paperKuts teamed up to provide each guest great swag, which included a personalized pen along with other goodies to take home.

Stay tuned for a recap of the great confectioners that we personally invited to showcase, coming later this week. Professional photos by dButler Portaits and personalized item shots by guests.
