Where to Celebrate Eid in Middle Tennessee

Salaam alaikum! Eid Mubarak!

Ramadan is a time for Muslims to abstain from earthly pleasures, dedicating themselves to prayer, seeking forgiveness, and expressing gratitude for life. From sunrise to sunset, they fast from food and water as an act of devotion, demonstrating that they need nothing but Allah to sustain them.

Each night, after a full day of fasting, Muslim families gather for iftar, the meal to break their fast. This time is also dedicated to humanitarian efforts, such as feeding others and donating money and water (zakat) to those in need. Fasting builds empathy for those who experience hunger regularly.

After 30 days of fasting, Eid al-Fitr is a time of celebration. The official date for Eid al-Fitr is on Sunday, March 30.

On Eid, people step out in their finest outfits for community prayer, capturing the joy of the holiday in photos and embracing the spirit of togetherness. Many of Nashville’s mosques, Islamic organizations, and educational institutions are hosting Eid events this year.
