A lover of the written word, Carla Adair Hendricks has dedicated over two decades as a freelance journalist and writer. Her byline can be found in local Nashville publications like The Tennessee Tribune and The Williamson Herald and in national publications like AARP and Guideposts. In addition to her writing life, Carla balances a full-time career in the child welfare system, advocating for foster children, while fighting for the reunification of families separated by the system. Due to the racial disparity in the U.S. foster care system, she is fiercely dedicated to the preservation of Black families. In her downtime Carla can be found either 1. Watching the hottest animated or Marvel movie with her husband and kids 2. Enjoying a mani-pedi or 3. Curled up with an amazing Black-authored novel or memoir.
