We are here to highlight more than than Broadway and the entertainment and celebrity side of Black culture. Why not create a place filled with local creators, visionaries and doers, from designers, family photographers, doctors, restaurants, business services, real estate and other lifestyle resources for everyday living.
Each day we curate thoughtful stories, beautiful photography and intetional experiences that allow you to feel seen, celebrated and welcome to explore all Nashville has to offer. The Urbaanite
We are unconventional
We seek a workplace, home and lifestyle that is inclusive
We love connecting to our city and culture
We love living and supporting local
We are foodies and love trying out the local food scene
We enjoy traveling like a local and discovering off the beaten path experiences
We are ultimately culture seekers who dig getting outside our comfort zones
Meet Ashley, Founder + Editor
Urbaanite was founded by Ashley Currie, a Nashville native with some Midwest living in between. Home is definitely where the heart is and this is truly my love letter to Nashville. moving back to Nashville. My faith is the cornerstone of everything I do. I am lover of family, friends and any great restaurant or trying out the latest recipes I find. My background is in advertising and marketing and I feel into branding and design (and built the first Urbaanite website iteration:).
My love of all things entrepreneurial started when I launched my first business in 2009 and I am so excited to now have the opportunity to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs and the community that make up our culture here in Nashville. Welcome.
“Our mission is to build and share community, city by city starting with good ole Nashville.”
