A Welcome Look Inside: A+M Marketplace

A+M Marketplace

There is a new marketplace in town to rave about and has a mission worthy of all of our support! A+M Marketplace, located in the Nashville Farmer’s Market, is the brainchild of Martha Lupai, an Ethiopian/Sudanese entrepreneur who knows that food brings communities together. The market includes an array of international foods that you cannot find anywhere else from baby bananas, Ethiopian coffee to cassava root you use to make Fufu (a staple African dough). The market also has an intentional social component, reselling produce purchased from local and African-American Tennessee farmers who can only sell their food on the weekends. By partnering with these farmers, A+M Marketplace serves the community by putting money into local farmers’ pockets and providing North Nashville with local healthy food options. A+M Marketplace also features local hair and body care brand Neta’s Naturals and adds a global flair with African fashion items like jewelry, clothes, and more!

A+M Marketplace opened its doors this past October. As Martha shared, “we opened during a pandemic, and we wanted to bring something diffrent to Nashville that showcases our culture”.  North Nashville serves as the backdrop to the mission of the marketplace as she shares, “I have been serving Nashville for over 10 years and I never want to leave”.
