Nashville is the perfect cupid and the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) is the lovely bow-and-arrow that had viewers fall in love with A Nashville Legacy. The Hallmark Mahogany story portrays Black love that is downhome, modern; yet classically reminiscent of a Motown vinyl LP. The fresh storyline keeps your attention engaged to the melodic romance that plays between the two love interests. Starring actor Pooch Hall and the Shindellas graced their presence at the Nashville screening this past Friday at the NMAAM. Black elegance painted the scene of the reception pre-screening, and an empowering discussion overflowed the stage panel hosted by Averianna the Personality post-screening.
Pooch Hall embraced the jubilant energy Nashville offered while tapping into the soul and blues of Music City to capture his role.
“Being a part of a music movie and shooting in Nashville was pretty awesome.”
His musical influences of Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf helped Hall to feel at home during filming. For him, the true motivation came with being able to work with Phil Thornton, a legend in the multi-media industry who is masterful at his craft. The running question asked of him is could there be a sequel? To Pooch Hall, he can see it. To us, we will have to wait and see.
A Nashville Legacy premiered on Hallmark Movie Channel on February 26th, 2023.
