A Look Back: 2019 International Black Film Festival

Urbaanite was invited to be a part of this year’s International Black Film Festival that took place in Nashville from October 3-6, 2019. On Thursday, attendees had the chance to see Black and Blue, the latest film from Director Deon Taylor starring Tyrese Gibson and Naomie Harris. On Friday, the festival screened Foster Boy, produced by Shaquille (Shaq) O’Neal and stars Louis Gossett, Jr.¬† Saturday was filled with great panels like Our Cultural Economy, hosted by Mojo Marketing.

There were so many great film screenings and competitions. The Past Is Prologue, a featured story in this year’s 2019 Urbaanite Nashville Guide, competed in the Shorts competition and won Best in Tennessee! Take a look back on the International Film Festival to relive the star-studded event.
