If you missed it, Nashville hosted another amazing TedX Conference this past weekend, April 15 – 16, 2016 and we had a chance to speak with one of the hosts of the event, Stephanie Pruitt Gaines. First, Stephanie is pretty, amazing all by herself as an acclaimed poet and artist. She was actually named one of Essence’s “40 Favorite Poets”! Stephanie currently serves as a Commissioner for Metro Arts and on the board of directors for the Arts & Business Council. Oh and she has a rockin, AirBnB in Nashville, she is passionate about family, pancakes and banishing the starving artist syndrome. Learn more here.

Alrighty,  so speakers were a diverse range of awesome, including Grammy Award Winner, Lecrae (which we heard had a great talk on Heroes & Villians that we can’t wait to catch on youtube), a Paleo Anthropologist and Google’s Head of Mobile Initiatives. Check out the full list of rockstars below and the 4 things Stephanie dished on that she thinks you should know from this event. Then, make sure you are in the place for next year’s event.

The Speakers: (click here for deets on each of the individual speakers):

Ella Al-Shamahi, Lia Barrett, Dwan Hill, Dr. Kelly Holley-Bockemann, Kawehi, Steve Keller, Lecrae, Stephen Mansfield, George McGraw, Sam Nana-Sinkham, The Radial Conservatory, Kiran Singh Sirah, Southern Word, P.J. Tobia, Donato Tramuto.

The Need To Know’s: (an ideal read for any dream chaser out there!)

Once you envision your idea, hold on to it and keep chasing it like a dog with a bone. The consistent theme with each speaker was the fact, they each had a vision placed on their minds and would stop at nothing to ensure it was manifested.

One person listening to their conscious can create positive change. As mentioned in the first need to know, each speaker received some type of out of the box vision which they went about creating. The takeaway was that they listened to their own conscious to do it. Sometimes you do not need permission to go after what is on your heart and soul to do.

Doing small things can potentially have a large impact. It’s all about working with what you got and utilizing those day-to-day resources to accomplish your goals.

Nashville is pretty, darn awesome.  Stephanie stated the opportunity to host TedX Nashville and look out into the audience at so many people who decided to spend their Saturday listening and being inspired by ideas was a “WOW moment”!
