Mary’s Old Fashioned Pit Bar-B-Que opened on Historic Jefferson Street in North Nashville in 1962. The family-owned restaurant offered attracted people from across the city creating their famous long wait lines. Founded by Mary Seals her granddaughter who took over the business owner Katresa Fizer, fondly shares that her grandmother was someone who sought ways to give back to the community. February 1st, Mary’s BBQ served their final plates and closed the doors of the iconic eatery for the last time. It leaves an enriching, core memory on Historic Jefferson Street.
