Ebony, one of the longest-running magazines for our culture, released their annual Ebony Eats List 2026 and 5 Nashville restaurants were included. This recognition is a major win for the city and businesses as Nashville continues to gain more eyes nationally. This year’s list, curated by Dominique Fluker, includes 75 Black-Owned restaurants and chefs from across the country that are shaping legacy and emerging culinary gastronomy.
The 5 Nashville Restaurants recognized: Bungalow 10, Noir Kitchen, Roasted, Slim + Husky’s and Swett’s. This list includes some beloved old-school favorites and newer hot spots putting Nashville on the map.
As Ebony shared, “We’re back the table, serving up a fresh look at the restaurants, chefs, and culinary visionaries shaping the way we experience food across the country. More than a dining guide, EBONY Eats celebrates the Black-owned restaurants and hospitality leaders who are preserving culture, creating community, and fueling local economies.”
Why does this matter? This recognition shows that Nashville has something to say, and it is more than music. It confirms how we are not just a one note city (pun definitely intended:). Our restaurant scene is growing, and the chefs and restaurateurs behind these spots should be celebrated. Not just nationally but locally. Tourism is now one of the Top 5 industries in Nashville, with over 11 billion dollars spent last year alone, according to the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. People are visiting the city at record numbers, and our local businesses have to stay top of mind and the Ebony Eats list is helping to do just that. Take time to review the list and plan your next outing.
